Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This policy explains what personal information I collect through tarrynmauch.co.uk, why I collect it, and what your rights are.

I am a freelance designer trading as TM Graphic Design, based in Copenhagenen. I am the data controller for the information described here. You can reach me at tarrynmauch@gmail.com.

What I collect

When you contact me. If you fill in the contact form or email me, I receive your name, email address, and anything else you choose to include in your message. If a project goes ahead, I'll also hold the practical details needed to work with you — company name, billing address, phone number, and correspondence about the work.

When you browse the site. My website is hosted by Squarespace, which automatically records basic technical information about visits: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring website. This happens on every visit and I don't control it individually.

Cookies. The site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, plus analytics cookies via Squarespace Analytics. You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Why I collect it, and my legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and discuss potential work — because it's in my legitimate interest to respond to people who contact me, and because taking steps at your request before entering a contract requires it.

  • To deliver design work, invoice you, and manage the project — because it's necessary to perform our contract.

  • To keep financial records — because I'm legally required to, under UK and/or Danish tax law.

  • To understand how the site is used and improve it — based on your consent where analytics cookies are involved, or my legitimate interest in a functioning website.

I don't send marketing emails unless you've explicitly asked to hear from me, and you can unsubscribe at any point.

Who I share it with

I don't sell your information or share it for advertising. I do use a small number of service providers who process data on my behalf:

  • Squarespace - website hosting, form submissions, and site analytics

  • Gmail - email correspondence

  • Dinero - invoicing and records

  • Google Drive / iCloud Drive - for file storage

Some of these providers are based outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where that's the case, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

I may also disclose information where I'm legally required to.

Portfolio and client work

I like to show work I've completed. Before publishing any client project, brand, or logo on this site or on social media, I'll agree with you what can be shown and when. If you'd prefer work to stay private, tell me and I'll keep it off the portfolio.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted after [12 MONTHS / 24 MONTHS]. Client records and correspondence are kept for the duration of the project and then for [SIX YEARS / AS REQUIRED] to meet tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained according to Squarespace's own schedule.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you

  • have inaccurate information corrected

  • ask me to delete your data, where there's no ongoing legal or contractual reason for me to keep it

  • object to or restrict how I use it

  • withdraw consent at any time, where I relied on consent

  • receive your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these, email me at tarrynmauch@gmail.com. I'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the UK, or to Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.dk) in Denmark.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using reputable providers, secure connections, and access controls on my accounts. No system is completely secure, but I'll tell you promptly if there's a breach affecting your data.

Changes

I'll update this page if my practices change, and the date at the top will show when it was last revised.
